Conquering the Impossible Space Between Where You Are Now and Where You Want to Be

When you’re feeling down. When you feel like giving up.

When you wake up with no energy and no motivation.

It’s so easy to slump back into what you’ve always done

…to do the bare minimum just to get through the day

But be careful because you are on the cusp of your WHOLE life becoming one big bare minimum event.

Day after day, week after week, month after month until it is your norm, it is your life.

And before you know it years have past and you STILL have not reached the goals that you intended or the life you wanted.

And you have no one to blame but yourself.

That isn’t to make you feel bad. It’s to take ownership

You must take ownership

Ownership that NOBODY can change your life apart from YOU.

Just like you can’t change another person if they don’t want to change.

The decision that you make right now has the potential to impact your whole life.

Because life is made up by a series of moments, of decisions that add up to the grand total that is your life.

And the more you can learn to push through adversity, setbacks, low emotions, fatigue, the quicker you will be able to uplevel your life.

And with every hurdle, you step over…

Which could be as little as CHOOSING to go for that walk, to hit the gym, to start that business

The easier it will become until that is your norm.

That is your new standard: Excellence.

Because you’ll have grown your self-discipline muscles.

And that is a life skill nobody can take away from you.

And I’m no different…

For the longest time I used to allow my hormones and emotions to dictate my life, and the results I got.

I allowed the ebbs and flows of my emotions to dictate my daily activities, behaviours and habits.

Which would, of course, dictated my results.

…because there are times when I feel on fire, highly energised, on top of the world, ready to do whatever is necessary to achieve my goals.

And then there are other times when I feel fatigued, unmotivated, frustrated….

Can you resonate with that?

Well, those things haven’t changed. I still have ups and downs, as every human being on the planet does.

But what has changed is how I manage and respond to them.

Rather than allowing those ebbs and flow to dictate my life.

…how I felt throughout the day

…whether my relationships with others were positive or negative.

Whether I hit my goals or not…

I now CHOOSE to push through them. I choose to energize myself by feeding myself with things that energize me on a soul level, to get my mindset right, like…

  • Watching motivational videos that resonate with me
  • Listening to music
  • Writing

And then, I just do it. I just get on with it. Even when I don’t feel like it – especially when I don’t feel like it.

Because as long as we are human, we will ALWAYS have chemicals, hormones, emotions… ebbs and flows that means some days we feel great and others we feel like the whole world is falling down….(okay, a bit dramatic….)

That will never stop…

So we can either give in to them and make ourselves feel even worse in the process because we still aren’t achieving anything…

Or we can take ownership and break the illusion.

So, watch your own results. Begin to notice when you’re giving in to things that aren’t actually serving your highest good.

You might not feel like taking the actions to achieve your goals. But chances are, you never will. The time will never feel just right.

That’s not to say you should never take a day off or time out to relax and recharge.

But you know the difference between taking time out for self-care and wasting a whole day in self-pity…

Just remember…

It’s easy to do things when we feel like it.

When we feel great, in the flow, energized…

And it’s hard to do things when we don’t feel like it. BUT this is when we build our character, our mental stamina, our resolute. This is the time that is gonna make or break you.

This is what is going to distinguish you from being an achiever or never achieving anything.

You must refuse to give in to low feelings, negative emotions, the fatigue, the frustration….

Just take a deep breath.

Remember your vision.

Bang on some motivational videos.

See how others are doing it.

If one person can do, so can you.

In every moment you have a new opportunity to achieve whatever it is your heart desires.

This moment you are living right now has never been here before and will never be here again.

So forget what happened yesterday, or even last hour.

Don’t beat yourself up because this will only poison your progress.

Forget yesterday and press reset.

Today a brand new moment and you can be anyone who you want to be.

Achieve anything you want to achieve.

Start again.
